Hi everyone,

What I need is the diameter of the charcoal grate on a 26" Weber kettle. I heard it's the same as the cooking grate on a 22". Is that true?

 Thanks

oops, u said the charcoal grate..Not sure of that 1...sorry.

The diameter of the Weber Gold 26 is 25 1/4.

And you'd be amazed at how much bigger it seems than the 22 incher. I'm really glad I bought one back in March. If I'm simply grilling, the days of having to fire-up two 22's are pretty much over.

Hi Ben's, Thanks but I need the charcoal grate diameter, not the cooking grate.

Submitted your question to Weber.com this AM, but no response yet. Lots of places have replacement parts for the other sizes but not yours.

Just got the response from Weber- they'll sell you a grate for 47 bucks(S&H included) if you live in the USA, probably cost you more to ship to Canada. If you want I can PM you the particulars.

All I need is the diameter of the fire grate. What I want to do is cut a piece of expanded metal mesh the same size to sit on top. I did this for my 22's and it helps keep the bigger bits of charcoal on the grate and only allows the ash to fall through. I'd like to make one for the 26" and surprise my friend with it.

I would make a cardboard template first..... just to be safe!
