went through crunched all the numbers bothered Dave a couple times got a plan set but have a couple questions

1. For longer tanks with half a sphere for the ends can I put the reverse flow plate in at a slight angle to help with airflow and making hot air rise to cc? Will attach photos to show what I mean

2. Is it more beneficial to cut the ends off and make it shorter and that way the firebox will not be inset into the tank?

Here are my numbers I came up with using Dave’s calculator let me know if I messed anything up or if my design could be improved thank you

I got the same thing using that calculator asked about it was told that they build the tanks larger to allow gas to expand when it’s hot outside so everything on that paper is using the calculations provided by this site

All except for the fact the reverse flow plate is shown at an angle I’m wondering if that will help at all for skinny long tanks and also the bigger opening at the end since it could be only 12 inches to provide the 257 if that will hurt or help
