Ah I dunno. I saw Buzzards bird and the golden color. But you're right, and BD, It is a nice looking bird. Thanks guys. You all are so encouraging and helpful.

I thought it looked great! You nailed your first bird. My first one looked like it ahead been involved in a forest fire.

Trust me, looks can be deceiving! I be seen a LOT of things look real pretty, but made the dog turn up his nose! I made a few of them! :biggrin:

Like my pappy told me when he was teaching me how to work with metal (black smithing), "get the basics down, then learn to make it look sexy". I still can't make a forge weld like he did, but my fire tongs are sexy!

Same with this hobby (madness). Figure out the sweet spots on/in the pit, learn how different meats cook, experiment with different flavor profiles of woods, etc... Then, start playing with the presentation. It'll be a lot easier that way.
