On Monday I went to an old times neighborhood grocery store that has its own butcher. They cut and wrap all their own meats -- and at good prices. They were having a sale. I bought 2 huge (1 3/4" thick) rib eye steaks for $6.99/lb. I also bought a bag with 13 fresh chicken legs for $2.79.

I smoked the steaks at 235 for about 1 1/2 hours until IT hit 120. I let them sit for 15 minutes then threw them on the gas grill for 2 minutes on east side and IT hit 130. It was SO good and juicy. Right on the high side of medium rare, just like I like them.

The meat was a lot redder that the picture shows.

Thumbs Up

Yes it is [emoji]128512[/emoji]. I've gone there off and on for about 5 years, bit now that I'm into smoking I go more often.

that's a pretty good price on the rib eye... is that on sale or reg. price ? I don't go to Dan's as I live in N. Palmetto out by the port... but at that price I could take a ride....

That was a sale price, and I think she said Tuesday was the last day. But, she also said $7.99 was there regular price, which is still pretty good.
