I am concerned with places I see saying that these pellet smokers only offer light smoke flavor. It seems odd to me as so many people use them for competitions. Doesn;t everyone say all you want is thin blue smoke anyhow? Bit confused

The smaller Rec-Tec for $499 is certainly an option too if it is built better and can hold temps better. It does hold only 15lbs of pellets but for me that should be more than fine. I don;t need the grill portion, I have my propane grill with my Grill grates that sear the heck out of anyhting...

I used some All American BBQ Rub, I normally only use Slat and Pepper on my steaks but wife wanted to try it out. They came out quite amazing. Better than most steaks...

I actually have the small tube one I use for my propane grill. I never really thought to use it in my smoker, because...well it is a smoker, it is supposed to do the smoking. lol. I'll try my tube in a short smoke and see how it fairs and maybe invest in the AMNPS tray for longer...

No i have never soaked the wood chips. I had read early on that soaked wood chips would let off steam until all the water evaporated and then they would start to actually smoke. I guess it doesn't hurt to give it a try though and see what happens.

So I have had my Propane smoker for about a year now (Smoke hollow pro 44) and I have smoked a bunch of ribs in it and some turkey's that have come out great! I have had an issue with wood chips / chunks and I tried to google a solution but couldn't find an answer.

I have owned this smoker for a few months and have done a bunch of smokes with it and have been pretty happy. Below are some observations and then a question:
I used gasket to seal my doors. I have yet to use something to seal around the glass to keep smoke in, but find not much smoke leaks...
