    Smoked a pork shoulder on my uds

    Hey everybody.  My intent was to smoke a raw ham for Thanksgiving but I didn't realize that you had to cure the pork shoulder to make it a ham.  So I smoked the shoulder as I would a Boston Butt.  It turned out pretty good but I don't think it is as good as an actual boston butt would have been...

    My UDS build video

    Hey everybody I posted a pic of my uds.  I finally got the video uploaded of the build.  I seasoned it already but didn't video that but it held temperature like a champ.  Gonna make a video of my first smoke on the ids, gonna make some ribs probably.  Here is the video link,

    Do I use black steel for air intakes?

    I've found that people are using pipe nipples for the air intake.  I went to home depot yesterday to get them.  I don't think people are using the galvanized so I bought the 'black steel' nipples.  Are those safe or do we need to buy something else.  I know they are on the outside of the drum...
