Burn times for Chubby 3400 around 5 hours

Funny you mention Jealous Devil, as I am currently trying my first long smoke with that brand and got over 7.5 hours of heat over night. I think my problem was the Royal Oak

Burn times for Chubby 3400 around 5 hours

Thanks, I started using lump as I read it burns cleaner. I am going to have to try some other brands, other than Royal Oak, or pile the basket as high as possible.

Burn times for Chubby 3400 around 5 hours

Hi all, I only get about 5-6 hours of burn in my Backwoods Chubby 3400. I use about half a chimney of Kingsford as starter and fill the tray with Royal Oak lump and some wood chunks. Usually have temperature around 230. Is 5 hours normal? To get longer burn, just use more lump? I have the...

Need help with Chubby 3400 rubber seal

Was using my Backwoods Chubby 3400 this weekend and had an issue. The lower door to fire box was sagging a bit (looks like the hinges were not tight enough). So the rubber seal on inside of lower door got to the diverter and melted, causing burning rubber smoke. Ruined a bunch of turkey...

Chubby 3400 - where do you route probe wires?

Hi, I recently got a Backwoods Chubby 3400. Do you run the temperature probe wires under the door gasket? I snaked one down the exhaust chimney for general temp in the the unit, but I'm not crazy about several wires running down that chimney. Thanks

Shear bolt for Camp Chef PG24ZG

My auger jammed up and I think the shear bolt is cracked. I can hear the motor spinning but auger does not budge. Is there a source for the shear bolt other than Camp Chef website? It's a cheap part, but shipping is expensive and I would rather just go to hardware store to get my unit...

    First decent brisket

Finally made a good brisket on my Camp Chef pellet grill. I used to use an electric unit. 11 pound packer, choice grade, not much to trim. I think what helped was using a full packer instead of just a flat and using Kosmos injection. Rubbed with salt/pepper and then Cow Cover rub from...

Where do yo put your Amaze-N tube in pellet smoker?

I just got a Camp Chef ZG and want to use the Amaze-N tray or tube. Where do you position the Amaze-N device? Directly on the cooking grate or below it some place? thanks
