Agreed, they are great. If you haven't had it yet, and really feel like getting crazy try some grits a ya ya.

This big question is are they regular or al dente?

I always get these at my local HEB and they are awesome.

You could also contact the fellas out of
Onalaska. I don’t remember their company name, but they always have pits on Craigslist for sale and they look decent.

Agreed, it’s another tool in the tool box. My mother has one and we cooked steaks on it once. The meat was tender but we didn’t season it enough I think. Next time around we will probably put it on the Q after, or try a sear in a CI. I think we just need to practice with it just like...

My wife sent me a link to it and said she though it would be a good gift for Father’s Day but we didn’t pull the trigger on it. How are the workbooks and the community?
A friend from work got a Rec Tec and it checks all those boxes (depending on size). He really loves it but he got the smaller portable one. I know it will go up to 500 degrees also, I have another buddy and his trager only goes up to 350.
Is that the one made by Bayou Classic? I have a pizza stone but it is very fragile and I always forget to put cornmeal down. I have used my 10” cast iron skillet but it is a little small (on the plus side, no cornmeal needed!). Something like that might be worth a try.
Very cool. I have a spare SLC 500 with analog in/ out, digital in/ out, and a thermocouple card at work that will never be used because we upgraded to a compact Logix system. I have thought about using it to do something similar for fun.
If you don’t mind me asking, is your Santa Maria attachment and rotisserie by Gabby’s? Looking around on the web, Gabby’s is the only one I could find that resembles yours.
