I will! Can’t WAIT! Some SPOG rubbed ribs Saturday and then Sunday some jerky! Speaking of that actually one final question. I see some brine their ribs and some don’t. Is it really necessary? I brine/marinade most of my meat but I won’t have the time to do it for the ribs. Have to say, it was a...
hey guys. I just got a new Traeger Pro 780. When starting it smokes enough that is comes out of EVERYWHERE. including back up through the pellet box! Is this normal upon inition of the grill?
this will be my very first smoke! I want to do some ribs with a fruity blend I have.
I’ve read though that fruit blends tend to be light on the flavor. What type of rub would be good to go with that so it doesn’t overpower the fruity flavor?
I’ve never cooked ribs before also. So any tips would...
As much as I think it’s it plastic like I could be wrong. I have never smelt burning machine oil before. Lol.
And there was a LOT of the stuff! My kids could have made fingerpaintings on the thing! I think I might wash it with soap and water then put the tray back in and see what happens.

I did the usual “seasoning” steps. 30 minute at 350 then 30 at 450. Still smelt after all...

Well the remote start part of the WiFi isn’t a deal breaker. Just overall control. My wife can at least learn how to start it for me. Lol.
So no, rev tec is not the only choice. Any recommendations would be welcome.

I want to be able to remotely control it. That way if it takes some time to come up to temp I can get it started on my way home from work...
