I have a propane-fired tube for my flavor wood - or I can ignite mesquite charcoal (have not tried that yet). It is plumbed into an electric smoker.

Hi JC
What are your thoughts on controlling the temps? Are you going to regulate the pressure to control the temp?
I began studying the Ole Hickory EL series pits and decided to try to mimic the process they use as close as I could given the equipment I have. That's why your post was...
Depending on what size items you want to powder coat you might check out re-purposing a regular electric oven. They are more powerful (2500ish watts) and can run at higher temps all day long. You had me at 'motorcycle parts'
Hi Debun
Others will chime in here who are more familiar with your Masterbuilt smoker but I think you would be exceeding the max design temp on your smoker cabinet.
3/4'' step drill vs a 3'' hole saw made my choice easy.
Plus the 25 buck air pump has a knob on it that lets me control the smoke flow.
At the end of the day do what works for you

I use 3/4'' pipe and a small venturi pump to transfer the smoke from the smoke box into the smoker. The variable (fish tank) air pump is how I regulate the smoke.
This is how store-bought smoke...
Actually, we're thankful for so many things but we're glad Pork loins are not too hard to cook.
Put these in the smoker with applewood chunks at 275 degrees for 1 Hr 25 mins (got distracted)
One with olive oil and a rub, and the other was just olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Checked with the...
Not sure if this will help you with the issue your having:
I set my temp on my Omron E5 to read ~10 degrees over the desired temp depending on the size of the food load. What I'm looking for is after opening the door and loading the food I want the smoker temp to fall close to my desired cook...
Kudo's for SMF on the Inkbird recommendations. Ours came today. So we did chicken thighs (normally a 1hr 10 Min cook for us - smoker temp 275 deg) and it was nice to see the 180 deg confirmation on the Inkbird when we pulled them from the smoker.
Great info - I don't own a MES but I could have used this controller on my oven conversion rather than my Omron E5 and external SSR. The nice thing about it is the enclosure the Auber comes with. It's best to utilize the thermal overtemp limit switch if your unit is equipped with one.
