Bear,
I gave that a shot and did a 16lb brisket. I used an AMNPS and got 12 hours of REALLY good smoke. The end product cut like butter and was amazing!!! Thanks again for the tip.
Thank you for the advice. I'm used to my pellet smoker that never seemed to get good smoke. However, I put my A-MAZE-N 12" tube in and WOW, these Masterbuilts hold that smoke REALLY good. I don't think making the cold smoker lid air tight needed anymore. :)
I'm new to the world of Masterbuilt so forgive the novice question.
I've watched a ton of videos on YouTube and I really like (and see the advantages) to the cold smoker attachment. I started pricing things out to look at the "mailbox mod" but it isn't that much less than just buying the cold...
Been smoking for a few years now on a pellet smoker. I recently ventured out into the "World of Masterbuilt" and it has rejuvenated my desire to smoke so I'm back! :)
Hello fellow SMF'ers,
Tomorrow will be my first ever attempt at smoking a turkey. I'm super excited however I have a question.
What's the rule for Turkey? How many minutes per pound is what I'm looking for... Is there anything else I should know?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Cool thread.
My last name is Smith and when you have a generic name like "Mike Smith" you need some kind of identity. When I started college I worked at a place that had 5 Mikes and it was utter confusion when someone would call and say "I spoke to Mike". One of my co-workers started calling...
I've traveled throughout Europe and they have a very different opinion on "meats" to what we think in the US. :)
Have never tried it willingly but I'm brave, who knows.
Looking for a WiFi meat thermometer that I can put next to my Traeger, have it attach to my WiFi and then be able to open an app on my phone or tablet, access the probe and see the current temp and the history of temp on the meat.
Does such unit exist?
I've searched and I've seen a number...
I failed to mention I'm in CA. Not sure if that matters. Tri-Tip is by far more prevalent and popular on this coast but I still really want to do a Brisket. :)
Thanks for the reply.
I went to purchase my first whole brisket today and here's what I found.
$8.49 per pound at a local butcher.
$8.99 per pound at a super market.
$5.49 per pound at another local butcher.
When I googled Brisket, the prices seem far cheaper online. It seems extremely expensive.
Am I missing...
In the area of CA I live in we have Dickey's and Lucielles. Not that impressed by Dickey's. Lucielles is pretty good. That was until I tried Franklin's in Austin. :)
I'm quite fond of a family owned BBQ in Hermitage TN called Papa Turney's. Mike Turney (aka. Papa Turney) is a great guy...
