Since I have to work Memorial Day, I am cooking the big meal today. The menu consists of smoked spare ribs & shrimp, baked beans, corn on the cob, and smoked peaches for dessert. I will take pcs when done. Wish me luck!
Just wondering what types of fruits and vegetables you've smoked with good results. Here's a list of mine:
Fruits - peaches, bananas
Veggies - asparagus, potatoes, mushrooms
Had some time before my night job, so I decided to make some lunch. The meal consisted of smoked chicken wings, smoked corn on the cob, and smoked peaches. I was very pleased with the results.
The chicken wings were coated in my poultry dry rub. Then I added a thin layer of homemade barbeque...
I smoked an alligator fillet tonight. I put on a spicy rub and then mopped on barbeque sauce before smoking
.
For dessert I smoked bananas adding brown sugar and honey.
I got my hands on some alligator fillets, so I decided that I will smoke it tomorrow evening. Did some research and the consensus recommend marinading it in Italian dressing overnight. I will take pictures.
Also, I'm going to make my first-ever smoked dessert! Will keep you updated!!!
Just was curious...when reading Myron's recipe, he stated that the muffin pan have a whole in the bottom. Why is that? What if there isn't a whole? He also said that a silicon muffin tin could be used. Is that safe in a smoker?
Thanks!
Some people have recommended that I start using a regulator for my propane tank. What are the advantages and/or disadvantages using one.
Does it install between the tank itself and the gas gauge?
Hi, guys!!! I know this is short notice but I am smoking my first-ever ham tomorrow. My research has given me a few suggestions, but I would like to run it by the experts here for advice/opinions.
1. Smoke for approximately 4 hours

Need you help again, guys!
I am planning on smoking pizza and ABT's (first time ever) for the Superbowl. Haven't made pizza in a while and am a bit rusty on how long it should take to smoke properly.
Also, after doing some research, I read that I should allow three hours smoking time for ABTs...
I just bought a Smoke Vault 18, and I know I'm supposed to season it before actual smoking. I know it involves running the smoker with nothing on it, but I don't know much more about it? Can someone please explain the seasoning process to me, including how long to do it?
Thanks so much!!!
I am looking at a Smoke Vault at my local Home Depot, I am ready to pull the trigger and buy, but I have a few questions:
1. What are the pro's and con's of a 24 inch vs. an 18 inch? (There are only 3 in my family)? Is it worth the extra $100 for bigger one?
2. Approximately how many chips do...

I have been smoking for approximately one year. I have a Brinkman Offset smoker. I was thinking of smoker trying a propane this season.
Does anyone have a recommendation of a modestly priced propane smoker?
Any tips before I use it?
All opinions welcome!!!

Replacing the manufacturer thermometer with a River Country RCT-34 (3" dial, 4" stem, 1/2 npt"). After what felt like an half hour of drilling, I was finally able to screw in the thermometer. It threaded fine but the nut (npt??) is still on the outside of the door. Is this how it' supposed to be...
I've ben reading various posts that insist not to trust the manufacturer included. This last time I smoked I decided to conduct a little experiment. I also have a Maverick remote temperature probe, so I decided to leave the probe on the wire rack not inserted into the meat. Is this an accurate...
