With the new Lang smokers they are including the new fire basket called the "fire dawg" (See image) which is a V shaped basket as opposed to the raised grate from before (and is a solid beast for sure and looks "real nice").
It is supposed to be a bit more efficient and does a really good job...
Had some maple glazed pork belly left over from weekend cooking and so I crisped it up and topped a fried egg with baby Swiss cheese on a toasted Brioche bun. Makes for a great hearty family breakfast sandwich for starting the week!
Used my lunch break to fire up the barrel cooker and make some Elote dip (Mexican street corn). Pretty good. Made a base type and definitely needs some more kick like diced jalapenos or cayenne.
Followed this recipe mostly and smoked over hickory...
The family loves these when I make them occasionally as a snack while waiting on a longer cook...
8 jalapeños, boated and de-seeded
Half a block of cream cheese
Mixed shredded cheese blend
Spicy crab dip (get mine at a local seafood counter at a grocery)
About a pack and a half of bacon

Just popping in to say "hey". Been a cooker for at least 10-12 years and have a Stumps Baby, Gateway Drum and a Lang 36 Patio coming tomorrow!
If it is meat, I have probably smoked it and if it can be stuffed and smoked, I probably cooked it. LOL!

Just joined today. Just a backyard cooker from outside of Nashville, TN who enjoys cooking for the friends and family. Been cooking on various units for years, started with a COS cooker and a Brinkman Red Electric. Both might have been ugly and cheap but cooked a lot of consumable Q! :D
