I threw a HERFACUE this weekend for our cigar club and introduced some guys to the magic of fatties. For those that don't know, a 'herf' is when 2 or more cigar smokers get together to smoke cigars and socialize. It only takes 2 for a herf but I've had them with as many as 60 or more - good...
Smoked this up today and enjoyed it with some friends!
Stuffed with roast beef, peppers, onions, mushrooms, cheese and some diced jalapeno. Served it on a bun and it was excellent!
Did this little brisket up today, I'm still learning (fighting with) the fire part of smoking and try to get my temps to hold but I think I'm getting there thanks to all the great input from the forum members.
This came up pretty good, had it on the smoker for 7 hours and finished in the oven...
Grrrrr!!! I'm about to quit messing with this stuff and just get my cue from the joint around the corner! I just can't seem to get the fire right. Is this just a noob thing or am I doing something wrong??? It seems like every time I find one thing and correct it then something else is wrong...
Anyone going to this? Looks like me and a buddy or two will head down from the burbs to check it out. After this my favorite cigar shop is having an anniversary party and we'll have more BBQ, dominoes, whiskey, poker... yep, I have a full day of leisure ahead of me, I better rest up...
I've got a couple of smokes in on my pit and I'm starting to see how it behaves. I've modded it with a fire box, chimney extension and heat baffle. When I get a good smoke rolling through it it bellows out the exhaust but also out both sides of the lid. I wondered if it was supposed to do...
My buddy made this sauce up this weekend as a finishing sauce for some ribs we smoked, everyone loved it so he posted the recipe on another forum I'm on and I thought I'd share it here.
MUSTARD SAUCE
1 cup yellow mustard
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp coarse ground black pepper
1 tbsp hot...
So this weekend was my true "Trail by Fire". My first big smoke on a charcoal/wood smoker. The occasion was a "Herf"... a term that cigar smokers use to refer to a gathering of cigar smokers. We had about 15-20 of us get together and my place to smoke cigars, drink beer and EAT. We made a...
Alright, let's do this! I was reminded in my intro thread of that wise saying, "No pics and it didn't happen." So I'm sharing some pics of my ABT's. I'm cheating a bit here as I made these a while back - but they came out very well. I know everyone has their variations - my filling is cream...
Hi everyone,
My name's Tim and I live in Woodstock, GA - a suburb north of Atlanta. I'm very new to smokers and I just got my first 'real' smoker a couple days ago. I've got plenty of experience using a gas grill but have always wanted to try a real fire smoker. I picked up a Brinkmann...
