Well Sunday 8-5-18, was the day. The wife & kids were away so it was Dad & Dog time
I figured I wasn't going to fire it up for 6-8 hours for just 1 meal , soooo I picket up a rack of ribs , a pork loin tip (bone in) & a chicken, just for fun

My wife picked up a 3 lb bone in pork loin tip, can I treat it like a small butt & inject it, rub it & through it on the smoker until the I T comes up to around 200* or is there anything special that has to be done. I plan on seasoning it Saturday afternoon & smoking it Sunday morning for Sunday...

I have several cans of Pam for the inside & WD40 for the outside
I have charcoal & several logs of oak, if there's anything you can think of let me know I'll check this...
When using fire bricks, do you just line the fire box with them or do you put them in the Cook Chamber as well for thermal mass
I'm new to this & if I decide to do this I just want to do it right the first time

I just picked up a few bags of Royal Oak that was on sale at Lowes, they were brickettes, when I got home the other bag of Royal Oak that I picked up last week was lump
Which is better for seasoning the smoker,( hopefully this weekend )

I just got an early fathers day gift from my family, a new OK Joe Highland, seems like that is the gift of choice lately, Its not even out of the box yet. Hopefully this weekend I'll be building & seasoning it, I already picked up a lot of mods for it, figure I'll build it...
