Been using the MES 30 for a while and got it down pretty good for timing and temp.
Good therms are a must. But the built in is only about 1-3 Degs off, not enough NOT to use it.
Put the butt on last night bout 11:00pm and went to sleep, got up at 3:00am and hit the 140 in 4 no problem. turkey...

Some finished pics from yeterdays smoke and todays dinner. Pulled Pork samies.
Last nights bottom round dinner.
Todays pulled pork with finishing sause and creamy coleslaw.
We just had the bottom round for dinner, which was darn good for considered a tuff piece of beef. I wrapped in foil and set in the oven (OFF) for about 2hrs. Sliced about 1/2" and served with veggie and potatoes. Just checked the butts and still holding about 174-177.
This NY weather is good for doing some smoken. not good for any winter sports thats for sure... I'll smoke anyday day instead of shovel snow....LOL

Pulled bottom round at 155 and foiled. The butts are stalled at 168 set at 225. From what I read about meat stalling is... "DONT TOUCH THE TEMP"... wait it out.....

Ok, got a good deal today and picked up 2 pork butts (5-6lb each) and 1 beef bottom round (4lb).
I just love dusted them and in the fridge.

When I purchased mine from Lowes I also was missing the 2 screws for the digital timer/heat setting unit. I just called MB and they sent out 2 right away.

The MES and AMPS is great combo for smokin. Also I think it lets you controll temp better then adding more chips. I seem to get a good increase in temp with chips them AMPS. No need to fill, or open door to empy tray, Etc.

I used my AMPS 2 times so far and worked great both times. The first time I did need to relight. But I had opened the chip tray and loader a little more and the smoke was rolling after that. I simply lit the pellets and let them go for about 15mins tossed in the MES and we were smokin.

Ok, this was my 2nd smoke so far with the MES 30 and the AMAZN pellet smoker. I did a batch of ribs. Since I was not sure how they would come out I just did a single small rack.

Yes,.... I did even check the internal Therm. with ice water and it was at 33Degs (even though I dident use it).
I did check with the setting I had on my MES of digital setting of 225 as to the oven Therm I picked up and it was prety close.
From what I heard in here they mostly read higher...
I will be trying a brisket soon, and from what I have read on here that MOST meat is set about 225 on the MES rigs and the meat will have a stall time and NOT to touch the temp... RIDE IT OUT.

This is my first smoker so I cant even give advice on the other brands.
But I can say the AMAZN smoker is great. Get it fired up and away you go up to a 10hr smoke with no chip, chunk, adding.
Great deal V111... get some picks if you can of that 1st smoke.
I just did my first smoke over the wekend, pork loin wrapped in bacon. Came out great.
Look into the AMAZN pellet smoker.

We used to use the small plastic grinder and took forever, we picked this 1 up off Craigs list for 200.00 a few yrs ago and it grinded through 70lbs of burger in 20mins.

And I was worried it might be dry running IT about 150 (155 with carryover). It didnt have any fat, real lean like venison.

I finally had a chance to run my new MES 30 smoker. I did a 5-6lb pork loin with the use of my new AMAZN pellet smoker from Todd.
Smoked at about 230-235Degs untill IT hit 150. pulled out and foiled for 1 1/2" hrs.
I even had time while smokeing to hit the neighbors and grind our venison...
