Lang 36 Stretch. Good quality, good smoker

Lang certainly didn't have that available 2 years ago when I purchased my 36 Hybrid w/ chargriller. Do you mind if I ask what did it cost? Also, you don't list your location and I wonder what state you live in and if you had it shipped or had it delivered.

    Attention Lang 36" patio owners!

I have the 36 Patio Deluxe and love it. The site gives the quantity of meat that the unit can smoke. However, I will say this. Given the number of butts or ribs that they indicate, you would have to move your meat from top to bottom racks and rotate. I find this is a great smoker but it is not...

    Elephant Stew

My mother wrote a cooking book to hand down to all the kids and grand kids. I was looking for a recipe today when I found this: ELEPHANT STEW 1 Elephant Salt and Pepper to Taste Brown Gravy 2 Rabbits ---------------- Cut the elephant into bite size pieces (this will take about four...

Johnny Trigg wanna be ribs, Q-view

Love the apple and grapefruit mix on the wood choice. I use all the citrus wood I can find. I'm in Largo and the citrus cures real quick in the "winter" which is our dry season. Your TUONG OT SRIRACHA looks like a pretty good alternative to JT's Happy smokin' WC

The New Lang 36 Hybrid with Warmer and Chargriller Arrived!

After removing your smoked food, bring up the temperature. While the unit is getting the new wood burning I take a heavy duty grill brush and scrub everything down. I use a paint scrapper on the reverse flow plate below the grills. Close the lid and let it get really hot (over 350°). Then open...

lets see your cooking area... looking for ideas for a canopy setup for my cooking area.

I had two friends help me build it. It only took about 4 days. (Not including pouring the 10x10 pad). It was a great project and works fantastic. I can go out in any weather and stay dry and keep smoking. I have a gas grill with rotisserie, weber charcoal grill with rotisserie, two turkey...

Help needed with new 48 patio

I got it for my 30th Anniversary June 4th last year. I can't believe how much I've smoked in the last year. I have a huge album of most of all of my smokes. It's funny you're looking forward to a bigger unit. My wife gave me the go ahead a couple months of go but I have other things to get done...

Help needed with new 48 patio

I have had may 36 Hybrid Lang for just under a year. I smoke nearly every weekend. By far I smoke more often with the drain closed. The reason is because I fill the reverse flow tray with water. Yes, you will burn through more fuel because you have to heat the water. I had difficulty keeping my...

Does Blackjack taste similar to other Oaks?

You should check out this link to wikipedia for blackjack oak. It's very dense. That means it will actually burn "ashless" in the right conditions. You'll have a very good piece of wood that will burn very low and slow. It is very similar to post oak. The density of the wood make it burn that...

    Lang Owners

Here's a link to Harbor Freight for a manual slide log splitter. I bought one a few months back. I use it to cut over-beer sized splits into smaller ones. After I split them I cut them to length with my shop saw. It leaves me with a split and a chunk. Here's the link...

wood supply? for us suburban people?

What you might do is contact some tree trimming companies. The smaller the better. I have a couple that I call and get a lot of wood for basically their "beer" money. They have to pay to haul the stuff off to land fills. If you have a chain saw, anytime you hear a tree trimmer in your...

Help needed with new 48 patio

Two things come to mind. You need more air and you may have wood that has a high moisture content. If your splits are definetly dry, then try smaller splits. More surface area and more air will give you more heat. Good luck WC Edit - Congrats on the Lang. You'll love it.
