    HAM GRENADES

Tropics, I too had some concern over spending the 20 bucks and cutting it up BUT I work in a machine shop and our best welder could easily reweld it for me if the idea flopped. I found this at Amazon.....All Ware Stainless Steel Pineapple Easy Slicer and De-Corer  Looks exactly like the one...

    HAM GRENADES

Tom, It figures.... I come up with a great idea and someone else has already done it. I have never seen the bbq boys on youtube but now they are on my list to go check out. Oh well, they are quite tasty none the less! Next go round I'm gonna run the ham through a grinder and use shredded...

    HAM GRENADES

I had a thought the other day and had to try it out. A potato cored out like an apple, stuffed with diced jalapeno pepper, extra sharp cheddar cheese, the stem end of the jalapeno with the attached stem exposed also stuffed with ham and cheese inserted into the core opening, and the other end...

I will NOT give up on my AMZNPS !

First off, I have a MES 30 and LOVE IT! Top vent with a simple chimney set on the vent solved my minor problems maintaining smoke. Getting proper airflow / draft is paramount to your success with or without the AMAZN tray along with having it properly burning before placing inside the unit. At...

    low smoke in masterbuilt

You can expect to add chips to your Masterbuilt about every 30 to 45 minutes depending on the temp you are running. The higher the temp the more often the chips will need replenished. Since it is electric, it only heats the chips to smouldering temp while the heating element is on unlike your...

    Homemade Lump Charcoal

Well I cooked on it this evening. I loaded up my chimney and put a paper towel with a drizzle of oil underneath. It lit nearly instantly and was blazing hot in ten minutes. It didn't last quite as long as I would have liked so I added more to the fire and it was right back up to temp in no...

    Homemade Lump Charcoal

The main thing is getting it hot enough, long enough, and sealing out the air once it is "cooked". Easier than I expected.

    Homemade Lump Charcoal

Wall of text and pics to follow....... One day last week while replying to someones post, I mentioned in passing that I might try my hand at making Homemade Lump Charcoal this weekend. I did and it seems to have worked great! I have a 50 gallon barrel with lid and sealing ring. The lid had a...

    Help With A-MAZE-N Pellet Smoker

daRicksta, Best thing you can do is to put all of your pellets into cake pans and put them in the oven on its lowest setting for a couple hours. Turn off the oven and leave them in it until cool. Once cooled put them into an AIRTIGHT container. Two liter bottles work great but they are a...

    Water and sand

Low and slow naturally keeps the meat moist and tender. Also steam from the water boiling off disguises the amount of smoke you are actually producing as well as softens the bark to where it never really develops properly. At least that was my experience before I quit using water in my pan.

Wood chips and ECB question: What did I do wrong?

When I used my ECB I would just toss soaked chips onto the coals. Another option would be to fill your water pan with sand and wrap in foil. Buy an AMNPS and pellets from Todd. Light per instructions. Place the AMNPS on top of the foil covered sand. Cover the AMNPS with a foil tent tho keep...

    First smoke suggestions?

Once you do your chicken a few times and get to the "l got this" stage, kick it up a notch. Brine your boneless chicken breasts, carefully butterfly them, season with a nice mellow rub, stuff with thinly sliced ham and then provolone cheese, close up the breasts, wrap in bacon, and secure with...

What lighter fluid do you use?

Since I mostly burn real wood in my grill I use a propane torch. BUT when I do use charcoal it goes in a chimney. I think my project for next week while on vacation will be home made charcoal.....

    Wood Chips will not burn?????

reidjones, Welcome aboard! Which Masterbuilt smokers do you have? MES30, MES40, Analog, Digital? Each has their own inherent quirks. How many wood chips are you putting in at a time? Too many and it can take FOREVER to begin smoking. Wet chips or dry chips? I have found that in MY MES30 wet...

    MES Smoker -- help please

You want the digital version. You can dial in the exact temp you want . If you are gonna guess at your temp then you might as well have a stick burner. The analog will work fine, BUT, the digital is way easier!

wood chips in MES 30 - How quick do you use a tray

My MES30 won't consistently burn chips at that low of a temperature. Mine will barely keep chips smoking at 180. The speed with which the chips are consumed is relative to the temp that you are running the smoker. The over all average is about 30 to 45 minutes for a half a cup of chips. Like I...
