    Hurricane Isaias

    Naturally Seasoned Hickory

I get a lot more flavor from natural dried vs kiln dried, the heat changes the oils or runs it out so that you don't get exactly the same taste, not bad just not as intense of flavor.

    Maple syrup bacon

I just cured a whole pork loin for Canadian Bacon and put a whole small bottle of real maple syrup extract in the brine, turned out great. I would think you could add that to your rub without any issue.

    Best burger cooking trick..

I never cook store bought ground rare anything, if I grind something I am not worried about it, I like to grind brisket and make patty's then freeze, cook from frozen works well. You can also cook steaks from frozen which is great for somebody who loves rare, wife see's pink she's done lol...

What are your experiences with different types drywall mud mixers for mixing meat?

I use a cheap SS stock pot to shred/mix meat, not plastic to scrape off and easy to clean, I have a 20-25lbs mixer with a hand crank but rarely use it, if I was doing large batches it is the best way for me. A kitchen aid mixer with the paddle works well for small batches.

    My bacon ate my pan..

Plastic glass stainless steel, also pottery might work and is the original pot lol, 1 of the first things I remember reading about brines and cures was the caution to not use stuff that reacts to salt/acids. not a fan of plastic other than bags, micro plastic contamination makes me wonder these...

Years ago I was fixing whirlpool fridges and you open a part and the box would say proudly made in USA, then the part would have another country's name on it. What ever you buy get a extended warranty, just bought a Samsung washer day after Christmas, awaiting my 2nd service call on it tomorrow...

    Hunting And Fishing Thread!?!

Waiting on some cooler weather to site in a 350 Legend upper I bought for my AR, now Tn is going to let folks on private property shoot 350L during the 2nd week of muzzle loader, I am definitely against it, to many people are to lazy to load and clean muzzle loaders that they bribed enough...

    Home Water Softener/ Filtration system

Been running a whirlpool branded for 10+ years, run a sediment filter on all incoming water then into the softener. We run 6 bags a year through it maybe with just the 2 of us these days. it protects anything that uses water, when I first started repairing fridges ice makers were the biggest...
