Um...
1. these are truly cage-free birds, not coup chickens. No poop-wallowing. Secondly, you wash and clean the whole bird.
2. Most of us eat sausage from natural casings. These are poop-chutes, most literally that routinely contact feces much more in frequency and volume than does the foot of...
More like beak-to-feet!
Black chicken & fresh ho-made tofu soup.
Basic simple cure-all soup. Chicken, tofu, salt, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, garlic. Served with a fresh squeeze of lime and pepper sauce. Our friend dropped off freshly made tofu on Sunday.
I get the heads and feet .
Wife made it while so I was at work, so I don't know exact.
Roasted rice powder
Salt
Garlic
Roasted Chili powder (chilies, lemongrass, salt).
Sometimes we cheat and use packaged seasoning like this. I don't recognize this brand, but looks close.
Sorry everyone, no pics on the smoker. But I figure most everyone has seen a bird on the smoker. Caught a great sale at a local market for whole chickens @0.56/lb. Bought 8 of them, 6 broken down for dog food in a couple weeks, but what to with the other two...
You all know what forum this is...
No joke! And don't get me started on porkbelly price. I can easily drop a Dennis Leary worthy rant on that without hesitation. I don't like that budget cuts fetch a premium. Recently saw pre-covid prices for skirt steak at same price as ribeye.
9.99/lb for chuck clod seems a bit high. I know supply/demand raises prices, but that's usually one of the budget cuts. Also under 4lb makes me think eye of round, though still pricey for that cut.
Difficult to answer without first knowing what more about your 'lectric smoker. Make, model etc. I'm assuming you have a MES, but you know what they say about assumptions...
I'm not 100% on this, but you essentially made beef barbacoa. Traditionally, its buried. I'm not sure if smoking or braising disqualifies it from calling it barbacoa, but its good enough for me. Great Job! I love the beefy flavor of cheeks. Very tough muscle, remembering that cows are ruminaters...
Woot! is an Amazon subsidiary of some sort. They seem like overstock.com or similar mass merchandise reseller. Maybe its last years model or undersold stuff cleared off of displays. I don't woot too often, but I've been satisfied with what I've got.
@Inkbirdbbq might be a little early, but starting to think about Father's day gifts:
Father
Father-in-law
Brother
Brother-in-law
Two q-ing neighbors
All needing new Q-thermometers.
Just saying. World needs some economic stimulus and I'm thinking about stimulating.
I use mine so much that I bought 2. Compared to one of my friends thermopen, I'll admit that it leave a little something to be desired, but not worth the extra $80 or whatever.
I have the HET-F001 (retired to camp gear), IHT-1P (above) and ibt-6x. I'd have to go through my lists, but have...
Copied from serious eats.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons (45ml) extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 large red pepper (bell pepper for milder heat, or a hotter variety, such as red horned pepper, depending on your heat preference), stems, seeds, and ribs...
Just do it. Surprisingly easy, relatively quick, very delicious.
was thinking that exact same thing. Maybe add whole shrimp, shellfish or a meaty fish like cod.
Shakshuka. 1st time ever having this, no clue on authenticity of taste for this North African dish, but I would definitely make it again. I happened across the recipe while browsing something or another a couple weeks ago. I was missing a couple traditional ingredients, but I made do what I had...
Strech one of your wifes nylon stalkings over asquare frame made out of a wire coat hanger. Mix Flour and water paste and spread it thinly over your nylon. Allow it to dry for 36-48hrs and you have diy TP.
I might have made this up. Not saying it won't work... but not saying that it will either.
