Found some tomahawk steaks at Sam’s Club that were marked down because they were going to expire in a day or two, about $10 off each. So I snagged them both and figured I’d give the COS a break and fired up the BGE.

Seller has now added a Weber Spirit gas grill along with the offset but increased the price to $250 being “slightly” negotiable. Definitely going to sit this one out but I appreciate all the feedback. There are truly great minds at SMF.

If the cooking area were larger I would be more willing to pick it up and make the mods some of you mentioned. But for now, I think I’ll stick with my $40 COS Brinkmann, keep practicing, and hopefully make a serious upgrade in a year or two.

Third smoke on my $40 used Brinkmann yesterday. Loving the results and the flavor difference with the offset is crazy. It was pretty hot, about 97ish, can’t just set it and forget it and hop in the pool, like with the pellet grill. But overall a great day with the family hanging outside...
I haven’t tried Lumberjack but I’ve recently gone through two bags of Royal Oak charcoal pellets and they burned beautifully in my camp chef. I did a brisket for almost 16 hours and the ash cup was only about a quarter full at the end.
