So I am brand new to this cold smoking thing. I would like to cold smoke some hard boiled egg halves and make deviled eggs. I have a small smoker tube and a bullet style electric smoker. Would it work if I boil the eggs, let them cool, peel, cut in half and put in electric smoker (no heat)...
Hey all. So yesterday I attempted to smoke my first spare rib rack. I chose the 3-2-1 method. In years past no matter what I tried the meat always came out very tough. 3-2-1 nailed it. 3 hours naked with rub, 2 hours wrapped in foil, 1 hour naked with sauce. Oh my freakin god they were...
I have a bullet style electric smoker. Going to do some spare ribs today. My question is I usually put apple juice in the bowl that sits on top of wood chips. Out of curiosity are there other liquids I could use?
I would like to know which rib is best for me. I tend to like a lot of soft meat. Albeit all ribs are great this just happens to be my preference. Which kind of rib would I be looking for?
So I just purchased a Char Broil Smoker Tube. Can't beat the price. Anyways I have several bags of wood chips and I am wondering if anyone uses wood chips in this scenario. If so generally speaking how long do they smoke? Also would I soak them first?
Also, just thinking outside the box here, could I simply use an old coffee can? I'm thinking drill some holes in the bottom and maybe a few on the sides. Drop in some pellets or chips. Fire them up from the bottom and blow out flame once started. Anyone think this would work?
What if I got a Char Broil Tube Smoker, fill with pellets, light it up and put in the bottom of my electric smoker? It's a bullet shaped smoker. No plug in, no nothing. Thoughts?
Ok I am looking to try this smoking cheese thing. I have an old Cabelas electric smoker. Looks like shi%$ but smokes great. So I watched some videos on how to do this but each one was really different. I got the whole keep it between 50-85 thing. My smoker uses wood chips in a bowl that...
My buddy gave me an old bullet style electric smoker. Love it and smoking meats and deviled eggs so far. But my stupid question is could I use an electric smoker for just simply low and slow without smoking wood in it? I love smoked meats and all but sometimes I just want a nice juicy steak...
So a little update questions for you all. Smoked some more deviled eggs. I do like them a lot however I am noticing a very slight rubbery texture on the outside of the eggs. Any thoughts?
Well I hard boiled the ggs and cooled them down overnight in fridge. Peeled them and took out yoke to make filling. Used cherry wood chips in my old electric smoker. Got a smoke roll going and backed up the temperature and threw them on. Took about 45 minutes. Pulled them off, cooled them...
Hello all. I have never had nor tried making smoked deviled eggs before but definitely want to make a batch. I have an old electric smoker that will probably get to around 225F. So I know to hard boil first. Cool. Then peel. Pat dry.
So then I would put in smoker for roughly how long? ...
Ok so here is what I have right now. I have an old bullet style electric smoker and an 18" Weber kettle. I live in Rochester NY. It's winter time. Since in the dead of summer I can only get the internal temperature inside the electric smoker up to around 225F I am almost certain I will get...
I contacted Masterbuilt to see if they make the heating element and they said no. This friggin heating element does not exist if I would like to get a new one. That part cannot be this hard to find
Hey Marc,
By breeze I mean very little if any that particular day, just so you know.
I have seen the Masterbuilt thermostat cord available somehwere. Is it POSSIBLE it could be that cord or are we thinking more the heating element itself?
Hey Marc,
Thanks for replying. When I did the test it was definitely cold out as I am in Western NY. Temps were probably around 40F give or take. Low winds. I can verify that the indicator light does indeed come on however I have never sat and watched it to see if it goes off and on nor...
