Another Pay it Forward Giveaway - Victorinox

I would love it! For one, I don’t have a boning or a slicing knife. Two, I’ll be doing my first brisket in the near future (a month or so) and have been looking for a boning knife to trim instead of the paring knife I’ve been using. Three, what better way to get useful tools than from the site...

    InkBird Customer Service

They are pretty good about contacting through here. I have the Ibt-4xs and it works wonders. However I’ve had two instant read thermometers from them and they both bit the dust after about 10 uses.

Recommendations (with recipes if you'll share!) for first smoke

I always tell people to smoke a half pork loin. Score the fat cap, apply your favorite rub, throw it on the smoker (I go anywhere from 225-275 temp), let it go until internal temperature is 145, let it rest 15-20 minutes and slice and enjoy. Super simple, easy, hard to mess up and it’s delicious.

    First timer

I always tell people to start with something simple. Pork loin, chicken drumsticks/thighs are an easy, delicious confidence booster. A simple bbq rub on a pork loin, score the fat cap, take it to 145-150 degree range internally, rest for 15-20 minutes and slice and eat! I do chicken at 350-375...

First brisket smoke for small party was a success!

Looks fantastic! Only reason I need to smoke something is the fact I want to smoke something. Give the extra meat if there is any to family, friends, neighbors, kids, local services (police, fire) and you’ll be having “reasons to smoke” call you up to see what you’re doing next.

    First Time Smoker

Sounds like you’re off to a good start. As far as your smoker goes I can’t help you cause I’ve never used one like that, however, I don’t trust most thermometers on grills so having one separate is a good idea. As far as temp, I’m not sure what you’re wanting to run it at, but I don’t worry...
