Hey Buzzard,
Sometimes that is not a bad thing "being alone I mean". I do some of my best thinking sitting alone and watching the thin blue smoke.
As far as company goes..."smoke it and they will come"
DT,
I think I'm allowed to cook on the patio, but my pasture is sooooooo dry that a tiny spark from my big smoker could start a fire real easy. It would probably burn down the whole place.
You can't imagine how fast these fires have been spreading. Low humidity, high temps., hign winds...
EARL,
I have to tell ya, That gravy is awesom. We tried it a couple of weeks ago with some big ol biscuits. My company was licking the plates. Thanks for posting the recipe.

DT,
Point taken. I will be experimenting as soon as we get some rain here. We are still under burn ban and I'm having withdrawal pains. My smoker has been cold for over 2 weeks. Yuk

Buzzard,
Sounds like a good plan to me. If you do have one made make sure that they copy a proven design. I've see some shop built stuff around here that is next to worthless. The welds are great and the paint looks good, but the design sucks. If your guys have not built a smoker before...
Buzzard,
Here is another site. http://www.horizonbbqsmokers.com/index.html
This is the place that built my smoker. So far it has worked out really well.
Burk
Bob,
Send a pic when you get it. I've heard great things about their products. I considered them when I was looking, but I was in a hurry and they were several weeks out.
Burk
Hey Buzzard,
If you want to look at some nice pits check out this site. They are kind of pricey, but really nice. I will own one someday.
The meatloaf sounds great.

Saw this recipe somewhere and tweaked it a little. Very close to Earlâ€8482s recipe. I like to experiment with every new batch and it always turns out great.
Start with a #10 can (the big one) of pork n beans.
Rinse in a colander till all the juice is gone.

Hey Folks,
The chicks look great! Any tips on getting the skin texture just right? I've noticed sometimes mine (i mean the chicken's) skin is not as crispy as I like it.

Can anyone tell me how to upload an Avatar? Each time I try I get an error message that reads "General Error" and "Invaid Session". I have checked the file size <20KB etc. I'm tying to upload from a jpeg from my desktop.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Burk
Dennis,
I like your design. From your drawing I deduced that the firebox runs the length of the cooking area. I think that is a good idea as far as the heat distrubution goes. My offset smoker has a convection plate under the grates in the cooking chamber. The purpose of the plate is to...
Sometimes, even when you do everything just exactly like the recipe says, the barbecue just doesnâ€8482t turn out right. If this is the case for you, you probably have overlooked some very important facts. These facts are not in the books. They are not on the web site. These things are...
Howdy Bear,
Sound like you have a really cool place to live! I agree with the previous posts, you can never have enough cooking toys. This is a really great site. I think you will love it. Check out some of the great recipes here and have fun.
