    The issue with the mortar, is it only in the firebox portion? What thickness is your door? Very nice build by the way, I plan on doing one in the month or so very similar.

    When using cinder block for the firebox and base of a smoke house, is it best to leave the block hollow or fill with sand or some other type of fill?

    smoke house to fire box distance?

    Building a new smoker. The smokehouse portion will be cinder block/ cedar, probably 40"x40" outside and 6' or so tall. What is the optima distance from the smokehouse should the firebox be built?
