I just got back from picking up meats for the big smoke this weekend.
Could not find any Butts...all they had were Picnic shoulders.
Is there much of a diffence in the cuts...Im assuming I should get about the same amount of smoked meat from both cuts?
Also Im not real sure when I should start...
so If I get 3 Butts at 9lbs+...that should give me around 13.5 lbs of smoked pork? Which should give each person at least 1/2 lb?..(.27 )people

Going to be smoking about 3 butts for a party this fridaynight-saturday.
Was wondering about how many 10 lb bags of lump I should have on hand?

WOW 6 hrs?....That was either a small brisket...or the temps were really high....?
I have done several briskets on a gas smoker...and they both took at least 12 hrs...Havent tried one yet on the Chargriller!

Yeah...I used lump to start with....relized about halfway through smoke...that I didnt have enough...sent wife out...and Kingsford is what she brought back
having trouble keeping the temp up now....Is it because i have to much ash in the bottom?...I have dumped fresh coal in...and it still seems to be dropping
This is my first attempt at some spares on my new Chrgriller...Im still learning with it...but at this time...everything seems to be going as planned. Sorry didnt get any q-view of ribs before they went on...but this is at 3 hr mark...as I am foiling...
