Martin were you able to just smoke the cherry wood without meat to be able to smell the smoke?? Then you would know the charcoal briquettes are a no go...
As long as I do not mess up or else the wife will have me sleeping in the garage with my smoker. All I can say is all the people that LIVE in the USA are so lucky to be able to buy one at a good price...
Well I ordered a Smokin-it this morning a #1 thought with all this Tariff stuff getting one to Canada will not get any cheaper. So just did it I was waiting for our $$ to get better but that is not happening.

Where do you live? I bought a friend a cup of coffee and he brought me 23 lbs of apple wood. I cut into 3 in rounds and then split into small pieces. Was on Vancouver island and there was a food truck smoker BBQ and he was using Alder, have not tried it but is is also a hardwood I was told...
