    Awesome Ribs for the CCRBQ

I hosted a BBQ not too long ago, we named it the CCRBQ, as we listened to pure CCR for the duration. I figured i'd show you all what came out. The ribs were great, people said they were better than soem restaurante ribs they've had. I used a spicy and sweet rub and mop and it worked real...

    Simmering Ribs

    Simmering Ribs

I see. Personally I marinade my ribs overnight...I've tried dry rubs, and well it just wasn't for me. I usually use a fairly light marinade and then provide sauce for me.

Something disturbing in my grocery store....

...I was walking down the condiments isle of my local grocery store, only to come across something fairly shocking. Liquid Hickory Smoke....You marinade/rub it on any desired meat and you instantly have smokey hickory flavouring on your meat....I find this actually, alittle sad. Sorry I do not...

    Simmering Ribs

This is my smoker, offset style, not huge, but big enough: I use charcoal briquettes in a similar fashion to the minion emthod, where I build a pyramid and then only light the top ones....once those begin to cool I start some more in my charcoal chimney and then toss those on. I use a...

    Simmering Ribs

First things first, I am new to smoking, and i'm learning. I peel back the membrane as much as I can, I find it's alittle tricky. I'm dealing with Pork Side Ribs here. I do normaly do the ribs low slow and i'm a big fan of it too, but i'm preparing these ribs to a BBQ that i'm having and are...

    3-2-1 Method Questions....

Yeah, I usually simmer them (which is not boiling as it's enough to break them down, but not fully remove the flavour) and it works out really well for me, also cuts down o nthe cooking time.

    3-2-1 Method Questions....

Well I have side ribs, it's all I have atm. I'm not mopping at all. SO perhaps lose the 1 portion of it? Also, I'm doing the ribs alot with two beercan chickens, so I'm trying to run the temp at atleast 250F. So thats why I figure the ribs wouldn't take long at all. I relize that it's...

    3-2-1 Method Questions....

Is there any way to convert the 3-2-1 Method to 4 hour smoking time instead of 6. Would it be like 2-1.33-0.66 Method? haha? Would that mess up the method? Or do you think I could pull it off?

    Simmering Ribs

I jsut did it because it's not quite the same as boiling, tenders them up somewhat but doesn't lose too much flavour. The 3-2-1 is what, 3 hours of no foil, 2 hours of foil, and 1 hour of no foil? If I remember correctly. It jsut somehow seems like alot of work to me. Also, I'm doing Ribs...

    Simmering Ribs

Simmering is close to boiling although not nearly as hot. There is really no bubbling when you simmer.

    Simmering Ribs

Ok, I'd jsut liek to hear all your thoughts on this. I simmer my ribs for about an hour before I marinade then (So usually the night before). Everytime I cook ribs that have been simmered before hand they turn out way better. Do you guys have any thoughts on simemring ribs. if so, i'd like...

The best way to make build a charcoal fire.

I have a 1ft by 1ft (roughly) fire box. Currently i' using the pyramid method for building th charcoal (building a pyramid, and then only igniting the top layer of charcoal so it burns down). I can get about a temp of 240F Avg. with it. Anybody know a god way of making your fire hotter? (I...
