I've never wrapped mine but I'd say what you did would be wrapping. Your enclosing the meat to trap heat and drive up the temp. Hope it turned out delicious

Fired up my smoker last night and smoked a Boston Butt and Beef Brisket. I injected the brisket and put on rub Friday Night. It was a 8lb brisket. Smoked for 7 hours over Hickory chunks. Rested an hour then cut into strips. Tasty meal with the family today. Here's a few pics.
