Actually, there is a pretty big difference in the external probe and the bradly temp. I keep forgetting to check the external probe in boiling water. Right now there is about a 25 (just checked) degree difference (Probe reporting cooler) if it is accurate, then it explains a couple longer smokes. -

At 0300 the alarm startled me up. Got the smoker out, setup, turned on looked at the internal temp and smiled, that's AZ: I adjusted the brightness to try to make it easier for yall to read. Yup, 0300 and it's 95 in the smoker. Got the smoker heating up and went inside to pull out today's... -

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm up in the Phoenix area. Yeah the weather is nice for smoking. I'll be having a qview for the 4th, got too much going this weekend for a smoke However, it will be a shoulder for next weekend- scottyaz

Using an extension cord witht the MES?
I have a bradley, I tried using a longer extension cord and had problems with it taking a long time getting to temp and staying there. I bought a 9' appliance extension cord and things work great now.- scottyaz

Little late superbowl smoke
OK, The last couple weeks have been pretty crazy, but I figured I needed to post up how the superbowl went. Bought a shink wrap pork shoulder that was accually two butts and started smoking them at 0630 the day before. All day long they smoked and into the night, at 160 they hit the stall...
