    Rotisserie is a smoker

    as i was cooking up an elk roast in my george forman rotisserie last night, pooring rain and high winds kept me inside. I got to thinking has anyone ever tried to put a rotisserie in the smoker??? Keep some of the less fat cuts of meat moist with self basting.

    My electric stove goes down to 170 so he should be ok, plus if he wants to do jerky in the over a 100 watt light bulb or 60 watt light bulb will work for doing low temps in the oven also for drying.

    you can also try to use some thin, 16 gauge steel to make a heat shield to protect the wire also, would last as long as the smoker, that with some high temp wire you should be all good to go. Looks like you only had on hot spot on the wire also. Might want to try to re route it away from that...

    Don't know of any BBQ cook offs, But I spend some time down there, my taxidermist is from Conroe, so I pay him a visit a few times a year. But I would highly recommend stopping in the Hooters in the Woodlands, right next to Conroe and having some good food and enjoying the surroundings.

    AHHHHHH Help!

    Had that happen to me once, had too many chipps in the pan and the flame cranked way too high. tossed the chips out, turned the flame down and cut the air back and was able to salvage it.

    When I made mine they where 2 lbs each and i rolled them out between 2 pieces of heavy duty wax paper till it was about 3/8" thick and with a little help and guidence it rolled up fairly well.
