It turns on. The protective cover on the controller fell off a while back and the weather eventually got to it. It powers on, just can set the temp or time. RF remote won’t chsnge it either. I was expecting this at some point but didn’t prepare... I can probably just get a new controller, but... -

First smoked salmon in my new and basically first (MES) smoker. Used the 4:1 dry brine. 150-190 for the temperature so I could get smoke from some apple woodchips. Hey. I found this site yesterday after the sale stopped for another version of the smoker. When I called this morning (about 11EST), I was told they had a few left but only in stainless steel.
