    MES Gen help

I've seen Bear's thread. The guy is like an MES knowledge base. I look forward to him chiming in.

    MES Gen help

Any known issues with a Gen 1? I currently have a 2.5 and it’s great. It really seems like the build quality on this on is way nicer. The stainless looks great, hope it holds up.

    MES Gen help

Hoping the MES guys can chime in on this. So, after several issues with my MES 140B (black, no window base model), Masterbuilt sent me a new smoker. The internals look quite a bit different then my current model. This unit is at least 10 pounds heavier.

    Mes Model 20070311

I raised mine with 4 stainless screws. Works much better than just laying on the floor. Oh yeah, get an Auber PID controller. Works amazingly well.

MES40 2.5 loss of temperature control - any idea what the problem is?

I can tell you first hand, they will follow through and make it right but they are beyond painful to deal with.

    MES 40 Butts & wings!!

I use Smoke Daddy. I didn’t know you could get them from Todd. They worked great and the Royal Oak lump charcoal stayed lit and burned to a pile of white ash. I refilled the tray twice, easy and worked well Pork was amazing!!!

    MES 40 Butts & wings!!

The MES did great today! 7# butt and 60 wings. The wings came out awesome. 2 hours @ 225 then on to the 500 degree Weber for about 7 minutes. Soooo good! The butt should be ready by 6 PM. AMNPS worked great with a mix of hickory, apple and charcoal pellets. Also, filled the chip tray with...

Wide temperature swings in a Mes 30”

Auber WSD 1500 HW is the way to go. WIFI enabled,3 probes and fully tunable PID. Cost more than the smoker but well worth it.

    Smokin-It to replace MES 30

My cousin has a SI 3D. It is awesome. The quality of the build is far superior to my MES.

    Smokin-It to replace MES 30

I’m in Tampa and yes, the humid air can be tough. Two things I did, raise my AMNPS with stainless screws for better airflow and run with the chip tray completely out. AMNPS now stays lit and produces great smoke.

    Masterbuilt Electric Smoker comparison

Nice work JTED. I got the Auber idea from your well detailed thread. I always like to tinker and the AMNPS and Auber were great mods. I am experimenting with charcoal pellets in my AMNPS to see if I can get a smoke ring. I know it doesn't change the favor but I'm interested to see if I can...

    Masterbuilt Electric Smoker comparison

The AMNPS is a must. I bought the MES 140B. No window basic model. I added an ANMPS and an Auber WiFi PID controller. The controller cost more than the smoker but is well worth it. Good luck!!

    MES 40 for Brisket?

    Charbroil Smoker Air Flow

The AMNPS is the way to go. I was a slave to the chip tray on my MES...loading every 30-45 minutes while not getting great smoke. Switched to the AMNPS and it’s life changing. I had to build legs for mine to get good airflow. One I did this... I was able to get smokes that produced this...

    AMNPS issues

Actually, I just removed mine as it was struggling again and since then, it’s been flowing a beautiful TBS. Looks like the chip loader is officially useless. I’m with you, never using the loader again

    AMNPS issues

I have been having an issue keeping my AMNPS lit in my MES 40. For anyone else dealing with this, 2 things I did today seemed to fix the issue. Drilled out the 3 holes in the chip loader for more airflow. I’ve been regulating air now and this seems to work well. Then, and I think this is...
