If you only had one book on BBQ

This looks like an interesting book. I am going to see if it is in my local bookstore or library.

If you only had one book on BBQ

I found a website, BookBaby, that will print the SMF cookbook, all 589 pages for $78. Seems fair to me.

    Smoker Ropa Vieja

Thank you, thank you, thank you. One of my favorite Mexican meals. Never thought of trying to make it myself now, I can't wait to try my hand at it after seeing the pictures!! I was in Durango Mexico for about 6 months a while back, actually a long while back. Outside of town there was an...

    Smoked salt help

Have you considered using a stove top smoker for delicate things like cheese or salt? They use sawdust and I have never had problems with sooty smoke that can sometimes plague a outside smoker.

If you only had one book on BBQ

WOWIE!! I just took a quick glance. That is an amazing collection. Since Sidecars are one of my favorite beverages I went right to that page. One pint lemon juice One pint cointreau One pint cognac The question I have is, if you want to make it for two, are there any adjustments or just double...

Help With a Brisket- Long Cook Tips

3 suggestions. You don't need to keep adding wood chunks. It would be different if you were using a smoker with a large fuel box that cooks with fireplace sized pieces of wood that burn for a long, long time. But with most backyard smokers that rely on charcoal and chunks, after a couple of...

    TACO TIME!!

Wow! You hooked me the moment you sprinkled the chili lime on the shrimp. After that you could do no wrong in my eyes. Only additional thing that could improve on them is to take 2 oz. of Tequila, one once of Cointreau, 3/4 oz. fresh lime put it all in a shaker with some ice and pour.

If you only had one book on BBQ

Good morning. While I wait for my new smoker I have been satisfying my BBQ Jones through watching videos and browsing the internet for recipes. I have a large collection of cookbooks that fill a four shelf book case, much of them on grilling and BBQ. Most of them have been fun to read and to...

    New Bern, NC

I am actually still waiting for the Stumps baby to be finished. Once it is ready I will drive over to GA and pick it up. I have several BBQ 'Gurus and they worked fine with the Stumps classic and the BGE so, will continue using one of them on the new Stumps. I will start posting pictures once I...

Smoked Cow Tails, not for sissies, long with no pictures

Cool, but you add in shipping and that is pretty costly. Maybe my palate is not that good but, to me, different woods smell different coming out of the smokestack, and some woods give a slightly different coloring to meat but, the only time I have ever tasted a difference from one wood to...

Actually I didn't leave out the Pimento wood smoke. I don't know where you can get pimento wood to use but, by adding pimento berries to hickory you get the same flavor.

    Cleaning Concrete Stains?

I had to clean rust off my driveway and I just poured a little bleach on the stains, rubbed them with a nylon bristle brush and then let the sun bleach it out. Like you I didn't want the plants to take a beating. Turned out fine, rust is gone. Takes a few weeks before the white bleached out...

Smoked Cow Tails, not for sissies, long with no pictures

I am going to come right out and be sacrilegious, even though I live in Eastern North Carolina, this area has the worlds worst bbq, bar none. From corn pone, which is nothing but tasteless corn meal hard tack, to bbq shacks that seem to always serve side dishes out of can, to cooking whole hog...

    Smoked tri tip

Californians have known for a long time that Tri-tip is the best tasting piece of meat on the cow. Unfortunately there are only two per cow and now that everybody else is getting in on the secret it has gone from an inexpensive piece of meat to somewhat pricey and harder to find. Yours looks so...
