No problem at all. I've been down the rabbit hole on troubleshooting these things so I'm happy to help where I can. I strongly recommend you verify with customer service before ordering anything.
A similar parts list I referenced in my post had information on the 1050, and showed the gasket...
This happens to my parents a lot too. They live in a very nice neighborhood and pay a "rich tax" as many people are unwilling to do the work themselves and ignorant on what it takes. My parents are not nearly as wealthy as many of their neighbors, and my dad is an impeccable DIYer (you should...
There are two main types of gasket material on the MB Gravity Series. The first is the rubbery-ish (I am sure it's some type of synthetic) material around the hopper lid and firebox doors.
The second is a fibrous material (e.g. high temp fiberglass or something similar) for the two gaskets in...
+1 to what @Smokin Okie said.
I have the LSS hopper cover and it solved my problems. If you don't want to order the full mod you can use lavalock around the seal for charcoal chute.
I haven't had any problems with the firebox door, but wouldn't doubt it if you did.
Have you tried...
Sorry, I wasn't really that articulate. I should've added that I have seen a few "portable-ish" options, Blackstone has or had one too, but they don't look that sturdy to me. I might be asking for something that nobody else wants, and probably am, as if a bunch of people wanted them I assume...
What I'd love is for someone to produce a 2-ish burner grill / 2-ish burner griddle combo unit. I don't need a big gas grill or a big griddle, but would like a small one of both!
I just tried to figure that out! No luck:
Me: Can you tell me where specifically that information came from?
AI: As an AI language model, I do not have the ability to recall specific sources or authors for the information I provided in my earlier response about smoking ribs. My responses are...
Kicking around some ChatGPT prompts with coworkers today and thought this would be funny. I entered the prompt "What's the best way to smoke ribs?" .
Here is the response:
Not bad for a computer :emoji_laughing:
I agree with yankee…think it’ll be a lot easier to raise the gasket to meet the profile of the lid vs bending steel.
If you can’t make it work with lavalock you could also look at putting a bead of high temp gasket cement or similar in the affected area and using a higher profile gasket...
I’m going to have to do that next time. It probed pretty tender but I guess not tender enough - lesson learned.
And thanks - wound up plenty moist with just a little bbq sauce.
Finished product with some air fried potatoes. Great flavor and good smoke ring but could’ve been a bit more tender. Gotta start earlier and take it longer next time.
Yes, and she has that quiet, brooding type of wrath. Way worse than the louder style that tells you exactly what she’s thinking!!
…181 and climbing. Lol
Great looking cook. Indian is one of my favorites.
I’ve read some ways to do a makeshift tandoor oven with a clay pot on a smoker/grill. Looks a little janky but I might try someday.
