We have a large family reunion every year and a couples years back my brother busted out the wife's family Baklava recipe one night and all 40 of us went nuts over it. We always do a gift exchange (white elephant style) and he hilariously wrote up the recipe on a paper plate as part of his gift...
Mustn't forget about Randy Rhoads though he died of a tragic airplane accident while on tour with Ozzy. What is even more sad is we will never be treated to bands like we had...everything is sold out now for new bands it seems
Do you have a Costco around you? If so try a USDA Prime beef brisket if they got it, if not Choice isn't bad but Prime is butter...expect around $3.49/lb.
I don’t find any problems with this bad boy. When I’m injecting everything is a mess including the counter from the butter squirting lol but tithe thumb loop works great. For the price you get 3 needles that are heavy duty plus some pipe cleaners (I use hot water/soap Instead) plus extra...
I’ve found this on Amazon, price is right and the thing works great and durable. $15 and metal. Though I do wonder if these like a lot of products are just rebranded. So many look like the same manufacturer but different packaging/name. Not sure I’d go with a horse syringe, just the thought of...
Welcome!
Whatever you smoke first in this new to you toy, post pics. How about a nice pork shoulder/butt bone-in smoked until IT is 203, rest it and pull it and eat it! Yummy 😋
If you're like me maybe you're your own worst critic? Here's the last Costco prime brisket I smoked. For whatever reason I got a wild boar hair in the rear and thought I would try and make a coffee based mopping sauce using Philz Jacobs Wondebar dark roast coffee, I mean the coffee is incredible...
I typically smoke the entire packer but if I separate the point and flat prior to smoking, I've always found the best results is to mop the flat over the hours and wrap it in foil depending. The point is forgiving cuz it's so fatty but I prefer to smoke the entire piece and then pull off the...
I store mine in the Weber performer coal bucket which looks like a skinny rectangular Rubbermaid garbage can without a lid. I keep my performer covered when not in use. Living in San Jose CA there's not much humidity and mild rain so the winters here are easy on storage items.
Curious to know...
Just don't let any cats get near your kitty box smoker 😭
I've never heard of using sand or any thermal mass in a vertical smoker that replaces the water tray function. why do you need a thermal mass? I've found the few times you open a smoker the better the end product turns out. We don't open...
Exactly @bill1 the igniter is almost always the problem child in a simple smoker circuit because it glows red hot, probably the most often replaced part. To try and troubleshoot igniter failure if this alone is the failure point is easy...is there 110v power at the igniter or does it ohm out...
I found a Treager troubleshooting guide/manual that might be worth reading just as a comparison and also possible troubleshooting adaptation. http://georgianhottubs.com/pdfs/traeger_grill/Traeger_Service_manual.pdf
Interesting how Treager gives you an extra 5A fuse that can be used for...
@bill1 I own a LG vertical pellet smoker and while I must say I really like pretty much everything about it, I have had no problems. I do notice something though on my Danson design the igniter draws 200W to 700W which would indicated this design has a 200W igniter. I'm sure this is easy to...
Hi @bill1 have you discussed any of this with LG? [email protected] 877-303-3134 There might be some valid points here and/or they can advise what the problem is and best remedy or proper troubleshooting. These pellet burners are not rocket science by any means but they could have...
Great stuff @bill1
For some reason do not think the issue is a design flaw across the board, to go through several control boards and igniters is not normal especially in short time gaps. When I really read through the entire manual there is quite a bit of information in here including not...
