    Strong coffee

Harsh bitter coffee is usually the result of over extraction, which could be caused by a number of things. Finding and reading SCA materials was a game changer for me as well! If your budget allows, consider an SCA certified brewer. My coffee at home improved considerably when we bought a...

    Strong coffee

I'm a "low budget" coffee snob. Probably more like medium budget as I spent money on a certified brewer and a high end grinder, however can't stomach the recurring cost of the super premium coffees. I quite like Happy Mug, it is fresh roasted coffee at a better price than the very premium...

Anyone have T-Mobile home internet ?

If you have good 5G signal in your house it is definitely worth the free trial period. You could help yourself by placing the TMobile device near a window. I don't know if you travel a lot or not, but one perk of the T Mobile I hadn't considered is that you could take the thing with you and...

Anyone have T-Mobile home internet ?

They pitched this to me as well but I said hard pass. We have T Mobile and the cell signal inside our house isn't great, and we live in a major suburban area close to an arterial corridor. I assume this is because the 5G spectrum operates in a higher frequency, and higher frequencies struggle...

A couple of pies in the mountains

Life is a bit more relaxed surrounded by nature. Thank you! Thank you! I am from Western PA and went to school in Central PA at a place with a lot of blue and white ;) Thank you! My parents have a cabin a bit outside of Franklin near the Allegheny River. My mom's side of the family has had...

    Fantasy Football Pulled Pork

Love making pulled pork for large groups. Gets you some great smoky Q that you can do days or weeks in advance, which lets you enjoy the party the day of instead of working the whole time! Do you find putting the shoulders in pans hurts bark formation? I've never done that, and always just run...

A couple of pies in the mountains

My parent's dog, she's the best! So chill and patient with the kids. Was a great time - spent some time floating the Allegheny in canoes, creek swimming, and beers at my brother's farm which is on top of the mountain (my parents' cabin is down in the valley). Hard to beat. Thanks sir!

A couple of pies in the mountains

Took a few weeks off in July and spent some time at my parents' cabin in the PA Mountains (among other places!). We took our pizza oven on vacation and did pizza nights for my wife's family in Michigan and mine in PA. Great at cooking for a crowd and keeping the hot cooking out of places with...

    Masterbuilt 560 tips

I have those and have never used them. I almost always wind up cooking on the middle racks and just putting my drip pans on the main rack. Keeps everything very clean, but I am rarely cooking enough to fill my 1050.

    Masterbuilt 560 tips

I got a bunch of the LSS parts from my 1050, definitely recommend the fire box insert and lid cover. Not sure if the manifold cover is necessary on newer models, but that is a must have on the older models. Some of the others are nice to have, but less of a must have in my opinion.

    Bison burgers?

    Now we know why @jcam222 serves us donut-shaped burgers :emoji_laughing: :emoji_laughing: :emoji_wink:

    Bison burgers?

Have never done burgers with bison but used to make chili with it now and then, was really good. Agreed with @mike243 , treat it like very lean beef.

    Too Much Q?

Ever have one of those weekends with maybe a little too much Q? Had a buddy and his wife staying with me this weekend. They love bbq, so when they stay it is the focal point of the menu... Friday night was ribs, and of course I smoked way too many. Saturday for lunch was an all you can eat...

    Howdy From South Florida

I didn't even wind up going to the show and I live 15 min from the convention center, and work 7 minutes from the convention center. Saw a photo on the Wednesday on LinkedIn of someone, and the Digital Projection booth was in the background. And it was the same booth they've been using for...

These look good! Also, yeah, separate threads... less likely to have them hijacked by the peanut gallery talking about theme parks :emoji_laughing:

    Howdy From South Florida

Well thank you sir. I will say I played a relatively significant role in one attraction out there. I am generally always a bit hesitant to take too much credit as even in just the attraction I was involved with there are hundreds of people that have put in effort, and a good many of those...

    Masterbuilt 560 tips

Welcome, I hope we'll see you around here for quite a while. I have a 1080, which is one of the big brothers of the 560. I put a hickory split vertical in the charcoal hopper and surround it with charcoal. When I am loading up for a smoke I put a little bit of charcoal in as a base layer...
