Thank you Bear - I so agree about biltong being better - it is somehow "meatier" to my palate than regular jerky, which I still dearly love, but it takes a back seat to biltong.
Thanks for the like!
Dang it, I just realized I never posted the final product... man, I'm getting old
This is the dehydrator I'm using:

A couple of pieces sliced through. Although the original batch is long gone, it sure was good. Pieces were about 1/2 inch thick dried...
"only" 111 degrees in my town yesterday - okay, just stay inside with the A/C. Problem for folks is that the power company instituted rolling blackouts to prevent overwhelming the power grid. Making it even worse, even if you sign up for notifications people are often not getting them, and the...
So sorry to read about your health issues, John. As a fellow "old guy" I can relate, although my conditions (cardiac as well, vascular, and neurological) are not nearly as significant as yours - yet. I'm still able to do most of what I was able to do when younger, just much slower .

Sure looks tasty Bear! I received my Ninja yesterday and plan to do skinless chicken breasts today - was thinking of what to make with them, and the fries you made look like just the ticket!
Both my wife and I actually got the covid late last year, however, we did not get it too bad. We thought we had a bad cold, but the symptoms were different enough so that she had us both tested. We must have been infected close or at the same time because our symptoms were on the same timeline...
Looks great Bear! :emoji_ok_hand:
I'm sure folks already know this, but the sous vide sticks are great for taking along on RV trips. Very compact, and you can set your food in the morning, do your daily activities, and almost have dinner ready when you return home.
That looks really tasty Bear, and I love the brown skin that unit managed to develop. Is the oil I see at the bottom of the pan just the drippings from the chicken?
Long ago I had an air fryer, but it has been at least a decade and a half or so, and back then the machines were not that...
