Yea thats kinda what I was thinking. I'll never get that high. I've got the kettle for high heat cooks that I'll use. So hopefully the lava lock will work. I'd say the highest will prolly be 300°
For the Bluetooth are you pushing the button on the smoker after the door has been opened? I have an older MES30 with the Bluetooth and once I started doing that I've never had any more issues with the app
Yea read a thread where they said they recommend against it. But I don't see why it would make a difference. I personally don't want to see the used smoker look myself lol
He's a good dog. The one I had before him had something wrong with him. He had a bunch of training and I was trying to get the breeder to take him back. He ended up dying at 18months old. Just dropped dead in the yard. Supposedly had a 2 year health guarantee when I purchased him. But by the...
Cold and rainy, windy day here in Ohio. Decided to cook some quarters. Rinsed em off let them sit in some Italian dressing for a few hours in the fridge. Took them out rubbed them down and then onto the kettle at 275-300° with some apple and one chunk of pecan. Let the TBS roll!!
I can't speak on the brisket and butt. I don't eat brisket. But over the weekend I did a 5hr smoke with the SNS for the 22" and didn't have any issues. I filled it about 3/4 maybe a tad bit more and the ribs were at 197 when the temps started dropping on the kettle. But it maintained 245-260 for...
If I'm wanting 250 that can easily be achieved with 12-15 briquettes. Instead of driving yourself crazy trying to come down from 450 to 250 do the opposite. Once it starts hitting around 225 I take the bottom vent to 1/16" and the top about half closed. I cooked ribs yesterday for 5 hrs and...
I like it so far. This was the first time in the bigger kettle. I used it a few times in the 22. It worked great today. Had the bottle cracked about 1/16 to 1/8 open and the top about a quarter and maintained close to 300 for about 2 hours with no problem. Lit 15 briquettes and put em in the...
Thanks! Still trying to figure out smoking with the chunks. I know chicken takes on Smoke pretty easy. Last time I used just apple and didn't get enough. This time I used a couple apple and 1 hickory and it was on the strong side. Just gonna have to keep playing around until I can figure out...
Not a very good picture but the final product turned out pretty good! Will freeze the chicken and eat the peppers. Chicken will be used for dinner this week to go with my keto diet.
