    MES 40 digital Smoker will not turn on

    Sorry that you are having issues with your MES40. If you decide to go with a PID, nothing better than a Auber WS1510-ELPM. I bypassed all of my smoker's circuitry by connecting a power cord directly to the heating element. Then plugged this new power cord into the Auber. Never looked back.

    Hopefully you paid very little for it since it sounds like there's no warranty. And if so, at worst case you could consider getting a external controller such as an Auber. But hopefully someone can help you get it going as is.

    Being that I always make a bunch, I typically vacuum seal them in small pouches (average 5 oz per bag) which go into the freezer for future chow downs. Typically no dips for I just share a couple bags worth on the boat when the wife and I go Salmon fishing.

    OMG, I give so much fish away, especially on the boats to fellow fish buddies, that will not last me very long indeed.
