How do you Buy Butts for Large Group Gatherings?

Tom, I did the same thing last year for a family reunion. Thankfully, I'm in good with my meat department at my regular grocery store, so once I explained my situation, the butcher "mixed and matched" the full case I bought to even them out.....plus I got a nice price too. If you can't don't...

Looks delicious and an important worthy post my friend~ Thank you for sharing! We get a lot of venison posts, but never much rabbit ones (in my opinion) and you've added a nice one. Rabbit is such a geat meat we don't think of much anymore, though we should. Very nice post, and you got to let...

$1.19 /lbs for pork butt roast !!! HE** YA !!!!!!

Beautiful color to your butts, there. Very nice! Pork shoulders (butts / picnics) are very fatty and that's what gives them their unique barbecuing happiness. You might want to skim the juice from the one in the pan before doing anything with it...the juice, I mean. the meat is fine!

    How To Clean A Squid

The other day, MOIKEL, one of our SMF members posted a delicious dish of stuffed smoked squid. (Check it out here: http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/111859/calamari-ripiene-e-fornato-calamari-stuffed-oven-baked) My wife and I love squid and octopus, and prepare it often. Thinking about...

does anyone use store bought rubs or spice or BBQ sauce???

For briskets and PPB I make my own, but for an all purpose, delicious sauce that's great on beef pork or chicken, I have to go with Curley's. They are an outfit out of Kansas and make the best bottled sauce I've ever bought. Not sure if you can find it in your area, but you can buy it online...
