I think while we are talking casings it’s important to mention the baking soda trick. Before stuffing if you soak the casings in baking soda/water mix they will be silky smooth and will slide right on the horn.
I’ve done it both ways now wrapped and unwrapped. I’ve also done them sauce and not sauce. Still can’t figure out what my favorite is. Ribs are good is the bottom line- tonight I’m gonna sauce one side and leave the other side unsauced and we’ll see what my bride says…..
Man I hate them things. I actively hunt them- when I see one I try to follow and find the nest. Then early the next morning I’ll spray them down. Just did a big nest in a crevice on the blade for the tractor. Used my phone vid to see exactly they are. Glad I didn’t try to move that thing!
I’m a longbow/recurve guy also but my dad had a compound we were gonna give my nephew….brought to bow shop and they said it WILL blow up. It was about 20 yrs old though. Error on the side of caution - calling BEAR would be a good start
