After a lot of research I recently ordered a workhorse 1975. For me it was the best bang for my buck. I have been using cheap offsets for years and finally got the wife to ok an upgrade. Mill scale was my runner up. I like the Weber and my pellet smoker but I need that real offset, ha.
One option I have heard about but not tried myself ( my first real offset is on order) is adding some extra logs. Obviously you'll cook higher than you want and then lower than you want but it might be an option for an extra hour or so.
Long time smoker and lurker of this site, figured I would finally join. Right now I use a Pit Boss pellet smoker and a home made stick burner on a jet ski trailer. I have one of them going almost every weekend.
Thanks to all the people that have helped me and never knew it!!:)
