Which pellet smoker is a good one?

My wife bought me a Rec Tec. Doing my 3rd smoke on it in the early morning. My daughter made me a Gunpowder rub. So far they have turned out great. I gave my some my old Traeger. Moving forward and not looking back. So much room on the RT700 with the fold down table, extra shelves and the...

I put on a 17 lb brisket and two 9 lb pork shoulders at 12 last night and they were up to temp this morning at 0700 The thick part of the brisket was 192 the thin part of the brisket was 202 and both pork shoulders were at 193. Normally they take 12 to 14 hrs. Smoker temp was at 225 when I went...

    pellet grill mod

In stead of the smoke going up and straight out the smoke will fill from the top down and then have to go up the pipe at grate level. This keeps more smoke on the meat longer. I did the same mod in my New Braunsfeld side firebox smoker. It seems to make a difference to me.

I do like the Smoke Vault. It is pretty low maint. The only problem I have is when you turn on the gas sometimes it does not want to work so you have to cut the gas off and wait a few Min. then turn the tank on a quarter turn and try it again. The company can explain it better than I can. other...

I used the EZ Rub from the sticky for two of them and Famous Daves for the other one. I let them sit over night and started them this...

    Shelf Material

Not free material that's why I was asking. I don't want to buy a $20 board if it's going to warp. Maybe I can find a free piece. Thanks, Mike

    Shelf Material

I have a NB SFB. The front boards are warped and need to be replaced. I was thinking about using a piece of Trex ( Non - wood ) decking material. Has anyone used this material before? Would it get to hot and warp? Thoughts?? Thanks

    Forum question

I went to an Avatar site. Google look up. Copied the URL and posted it in my Profile under the Avatar option. For a personal pic I believe you have to shrink it to a small size to be able to post it.
