    Hay Smoking

I've never smelled burning hay. I thought I heard of high end chefs using hay, hence my inquiry.

    Hay Smoking

Has anyone tried smoking pork with hay? If so, how did it turn out? I'm going to try and talk my Father into breaking out the smoker next weekend. I love the smell of hay, so I am hoping it will taste as good as I imagine.

    Smoked Ham Mold

Hey thanks for the response! My Dad's excuse has been "That's the way we always do it; cheese is made the same way". I wasn't sure if all the mold warnings were applicable to him or not.

Ribberfest lol- I love it. I am from Jasper. I do love Kentucky. My family drives down to Owensboro quite a bit to dine out.

How did you come up with your screen name?

Schola is short for "schola cantorum", which sings during the Latin Mass at my home Parish. My singing stinks. My cooking is good though :)

    Smoked Ham Mold

Hi all, I have a question about smoked meat. Each year we smoke hams and then hang them in the basement for about 9 months. By the time my Father cuts them up, they have a pelt of green, black and white mold. He rinses them off and then dries and cuts them up. Is he going to make himself sick...

    Hi from Southern Indiana :)

Hi there, my name is Lisa and this is my first time posting to a food forum. Lately the discussion at home has been about how many hogs we will butcher this winter. Curiosity has gotten the best of me as to what I can make homemade. We do smoked hams, sausage and bacon every year so I am looking...
