If so it's a pretty good smoker so far. First thing I would do if you don't buy the basket is take a 1/2in drill bit and drill about 2 dozen holes in the charcoal pan to let air in. Otherwise you'll be spending all day tending to the fire...
Attempted my first whole chicken smoke today. Had some ribs to smoke and figured now would be a good time to throw on a chicken.
I did cut the chicken in half, olive oil and a dry rub mixture.
I did the 3-2-1 on the ribs and threw the chicken on during the time the ribs were wrapped.
Finished...
I've been wanting to do this. I've had some good success with legs and thighs, want to try a whole chicken.
Is there a per lb time limit when it comes to chicken? Just want to make sure I could get it done before supper
Thanks oldschool! I was going to try and attempt a brisket for a BBQ i plan on having at my house in a few weeks. Not sure if I'm fully ready for that. Think I'm going to try some chicken next.
How much wood chips does one use during a process? I think I went through half a bag of them.

Alright guys and gals, I'm going to be leaning on your shoulders here. Tomorrow I plan to do my first EVER smoke. Took the advice and did something simple, ribs for the first time. I think from what I read doing the 3-2-1 method will be the best bet?
