hey I'm new, I have some questions about the Brinkmann Split door smoker

Think you may be looking at the same one I have ?? If so it's a pretty good smoker so far. First thing I would do if you don't buy the basket is take a 1/2in drill bit and drill about 2 dozen holes in the charcoal pan to let air in. Otherwise you'll be spending all day tending to the fire...

    First time whole chicken smoke

Attempted my first whole chicken smoke today. Had some ribs to smoke and figured now would be a good time to throw on a chicken. I did cut the chicken in half, olive oil and a dry rub mixture. I did the 3-2-1 on the ribs and threw the chicken on during the time the ribs were wrapped. Finished...

    Smoking whole chickens

I've been wanting to do this. I've had some good success with legs and thighs, want to try a whole chicken. Is there a per lb time limit when it comes to chicken? Just want to make sure I could get it done before supper

    Firs time success!!! (with photos)

Thanks oldschool! I was going to try and attempt a brisket for a BBQ i plan on having at my house in a few weeks. Not sure if I'm fully ready for that. Think I'm going to try some chicken next. How much wood chips does one use during a process? I think I went through half a bag of them.

    Firs time success!!! (with photos)

I initially started a thread HERE  and never got around to it last weekend but was determined this weekend to smoke some ribs. I only did one rack in case I screwed it up somehow. Well it was more of a time consuming process that I thought. I had to constantly keep stoking it to keep the temp...

    First smoke ever! Pork ribs!

Aghh!!!!!! I'm about to pull out what little hair I have left on my first attempt here!  I think I FINALLY got the temp to maintain some sort of consistent level, not what I want but there (need to drill more holes in the pan). Have the ribs on now and going to try the 2-2-1 method on them. When...

Alright guys and gals, I'm going to be leaning on your shoulders here. Tomorrow I plan to do my first EVER smoke. Took the advice and did something simple, ribs for the first time. I think from what I read doing the 3-2-1 method will be the best bet? Here's the ribs I have the brinkman...

thanks for the suggestion, I may just go that route then.   EDIT: what do you suggest then? Some thighs, legs, etc or were you talking a whole chicken? I may go for some ribs as we're a big fan of them.
