First pulled pork in the Stampede.

Came out pretty good. Next time I might forego the wrap and time it a little better. Did a pizza for the kids as well.

First pulled pork in the Stampede.

It's Rec Tec's app. Using the probe on the controller.

First pulled pork in the Stampede.

Just hit 160 and now she's wrapped up with some butter, brown sugar, honey, and a little apple juice to keep her company. Smells amazing! I had reservations about a pellet pooper not putting out good smoke but this REC TEC doesn't disappoint. See y'all in a bit.

First pulled pork in the Stampede.

Good morning all! Here's a couple screen shots from the app. Almost feels like cheating, almost. Pretty cool.

First pulled pork in the Stampede.

This'll be my first long smoke in my new REC TEC Stampede. I'm accustomed to walking up all night to stoke the fire or add some wood. I'm loving this thing. I even started warming it up from my bedroom! Anyways, pulled pork tomorrow, from a 10 pounder. I'll be back....

    Rec Tec Stampede inbound!!

After 2 years of looking and researching today I clicked the mouse on a Stampede w/sear grates and 80#'s of pellets. Came close to a Silverbac but I decided to start Tec-in'. Anybody else lovin' (or hatin') the Stampede? I think some dual butts are in order. Gratuitous reverse seared tomahawk...

Long time, no smoke. CSR's in the air compressor.

Got em wrapped. Brown sugar, grated butter, and some local honey. A wise man once said "The money is in the honey".

Long time, no smoke. CSR's in the air compressor.

Been a while since I've visited here (or smoked anything). Decided to break the streak with some CSR's. Never done em before. Gonna try the 2-2-1 method. Any pointers? Btw, in my smoked meat hiatus, I've been eyeballing the pellet smokers. Got an itch for that Rec Tec but man, $1k! Hard to...

PERFECT RIBS EVERY TIME! This really works!

It was a semi-faliure. Wind was gusting about 20+ and it kept blowing my burner out. I conceded to mother nature and cooked em in the oven. Still made a decent meal though. Maybe next time. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk

PERFECT RIBS EVERY TIME! This really works!

I've got 2 racks in the fridge who have a dinner date with tall, dark, and semi-handsome vertical smoker. I hope they hit it off. I'm gonna try this method. Thanks AL

TBS and the sunrise, Baby backs.

I did 2 hours with pecan/apple mix, no foil. After that I did 2 hours with the crutch (wrapped in foil). I put some light brown sugar, butter, and honey on both sides. Wrapped em up with the bones up. After that they went in for one more hour with a coat Sweet Baby Rays. Total of 5 hours, at...

TBS and the sunrise, Baby backs.

There's something special about that TBS calmly weeping out from the stack to accompany the sunrise. Got 3 racks going in for my girls b-day party. Should be a great day!! I was in a rush and just picked up some Weber Kansas rub. 2-2-1 worked great last time. Off we go!!

Baby backs in my homemade vertical

Thanks fellas, I forgot to take a pic of the smoke ring but it was a good 1/4 inch. This hobby is addictive.
