    Picanha

I have never cooked it before, but I thought the fat cap was a big part of this cut.

More grillin' & chillin' with the stars

A vortex or SnS on the Weber Kettle is my favorite way to do wings. Indirect on the cooler side, and then crisp the skin on the hot side. That looks like lump in the vortex in this cook, but I have found that brickets work better due to size compared to lump.

    Pecan Pellets- New favorite!

They are like any other pellet, so, yes you can use them in any pellet cooker.

Hello from up the road in Charlotte. When I was growing up in the 60's, our next-door neighbor was a pilot with the Air National Guard, and he showed up one day with these giant ceramic grills from the Philippines. It wasn't until 30 or so years later that I put 2 and 2 together that that was...

I think you are probably right about that. I have seen other posts about rebuilding older kettles.

What is this thing? I would appreciate any info about this

I have seen a diamond-shaped grill similar to that before, but couldn't find anything with a basic Google search

I'm not sure about a generation, but definitely a decade or so, depending on your local. Here in NC, the humidity tends to cause rust, even if covered and cared for. I have a 22" that I don't use anymore, but I was going to rebuild it for someone. It's probably 12 years old. Of course, the...

Anyone know the name of this type of grill?

I would just refer to it as open/live fire grilling. I bought my son one because he loved to grill on our fire pit ring. The Kudu is probably one of the more affordable ones, but I have been seeing a lot of ads for Breeo lately. Those things are very versatile, but twice the price.

Lyfetyme Smoker—How do I cook on this evenly?

I have a 60 x 20 reverse flow and a 42 x 24 normal flow with tuning plates. I rarely have temp differences from side to side of more than 10* on the normal flow and maybe 15* to 20* on the reverse flow. Sometimes the cooker does matter. But, as mentioned above, check the thermos; they have...

You think the 26" is huge, check out the 37" Ranch Kettle

Chris, I'm curious why. I like not having to empty it every cook, and the ease of taking it off and to the backyard to dump.
