Just bought an MES 40 this week and got it all set up, seasoned, and ready to go yesterday. Picked out a good looking pork shoulder (half off, at that) figuring it would be a safe bet for a first time. Have my AMNS on stand-by, wake up and walk outside to preheat and discover...it's raining. Ever so slightly but quite annoyingly. Whhyyyyyyyyyyy.

Anyways, the boyfriend is still asleep and I just need some sympathy. Thinking I'll run to the store and grab something that will take < 6 hrs to prep as opposed to the ~12 hrs with the pork.

Thanks for all of the posts on here for the MES, I was able to incorporate most of the "wtf do I need for my first smoke" in to a big amazon birthday purchase. Also, MES really needs to do a better job with their manual (slight rant).

Happy smoking! Hopefully most of you did not wake up to rain today

Good luck today!

I got the grass cut & fertilized, and now it's raining.

No smoking for me today!
